February Update!

Hi Everyone! February brought on Sophie's second birthday, Valentine's day Love, Eden's wrestling matches, Emma's first visit to the Dentist, and snow that actually stuck to the ground!

Sophie's birthday started with her annual checkup at the doctor. For her birthday, she received four shots! Yay! Not really yay, but it had to be done. She was measured at 34 inches, which would put her, at age 20, at 68 inches, or 5 foot 8 inches! That's MY GIRL!

It also was Chinese New Year, even though Joy and I aren't Chinese. We decided to put the girls in some Chinese outfits to go with the holiday.

Emma has been super busy with preschool. She was ending her Traveling camp at the beginning of February, where she learned about the different cultures and continents of the world. She started a new one about Animals at the Zoo and is having a blast learning about all
the different animals that you can find in the zoo. She's also doing very well writing her name, and the other letters of the alphabet. She can also write and count to 20, and can read numbers all the way up to 100! Joy and I have started working with her reading skills, and do flash cards with her almost every other night that help with her reading and writing skills. She's such a quick learner it's crazy! In February, Emma also had her first Dentist appointment! We helped calm her down by letting her watch "Caillou" on TV, where he visits the dentist for the first time. She began to understand how the process worked and was excited to go. I think I was more nervous for her than she was!

Eden began her second year of wrestling in February. She was promoted to the varsity class and wrestled in the 120 pound range. There were a bit of scary times though, as she had to wrestle some boys who were (in my opinion) MUCH heavier than the 120 pound range. She did get to wrestle some girls and won those too. Overall she did great, and finished her season March 1st.

Valentine's Day is always a special day for our family. Joy will go all out when it comes to dinner, which is better than having to go out, especially with the girls. It's tough to keep the girls entertained when we go out to dinner, so eating in is always the better alternative.

Joy gave me gift cards to Best Buy, Jamba Juice, and Regal Cinemas. I braved the ridiculous lines at the new grand opening of H&M at Washington Square Mall. I bought Joy a dress there, and ordered some shoes for her, which matches perfectly with it.

On the menu we had pork with an onion marmalade, mac and cheese, asparagus and biscuits! It was VERY DELICIOUS!

Anyways, it was a great month! Thanks for reading!

10 years and counting

I can start off this post by apologizing how we have done a terrible job at maintaining our family blog BUT I won't. 2011 is a new year and it is a new start. I changed out the background and threw in a new banner. 2011 is going to be great!

On January 8, Albert and I celebrated our 10 years of togetherness. Albert surprised me by whisking me off to Seattle for a weekend getaway... It turned out to be more of an eating smorgishborg. (see the pictures below)

For those of you who know us, you know that we met while working at Starbucks. The original Starbucks is located in Seattle and we started our vacation there. Awwwwwwwwww... <3 <3 <3

We strolled down to Pikes place and had a mini breakfast/lunch of Beecher's mac and cheese and Piroshkys. Delicious! We saw interesting sites and tasted every sample that was handed out.

We stayed right in the heart of downtown Seattle. Our hotel was across the street from H&M and Cheesecake Factory. I must have died and gone to heaven!

For dinner we decided to make a few stops. We started with happy hour at Hotel Monaco, then strolled down for yummy hot dogs at Dog in the Park, and ended with Red Velvet Cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory.

The next day we strolled the International District which is the equivalent of China Town and Japan Town. We got boba and cream puffs at Beard Papas and then headed home.

We had such a blast and love spending time in Seattle. Next time we plan to bring the girls and show them the Space Needle.
